| Another Crappy Rule in the Bible - Shaving Your Head and Trimming Your Beard | ||||

By Greg Vanden Berge Articles For Christians Now as Christians, there is no need to follow the Old Testament laws, because it was done away with when Jesus died. A few Christians don't know that but as always, it's written in the Bible and if you believe that the Bible is the written Word of God, you should also believe that Jesus died for our sins and removed the written code. Check it out for yourself. Romans 7:6 “But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.” Now like most Bible verses, it doesn't specifically say, what the written code was. Was it the entire Old Testament? Was it the 10 Commandments? Is it every law in the Old Testament? Are you confused yet, I was before I started writing article. I would be overstepping my bounds to start twisting the Scriptures in the Bible or looking for secret messages. Whatever the old way of the written code is, has been removed and Christians have been released from it. If it says so in the Bible and you believe in the Bible, as it is written so let it be known. If you believe that it applies to any laws in the Old Testament, you're safe. You can shave your head and make yourself bald or shave off the corners of your beard and even make cuttings in your flesh. Leviticus 21:5 They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh. However, if you are a strict follower of the Old Testament or confused about the written code, I would suggest that you don't shave your head or do anything else that could jeopardize your eternal banishment from God. |
