Another Crappy Theory - The Bible Says So

By Greg Vanden Berge  Articles For Christians

Anyone who is truly interested in Christianity should research the Bible with an open mind. If you're beliefs lie in the Bible, shouldn't you know what the Bible actually says about them? It's going to require some time and effort, but you will crappy rewarded with an education that could change your life.

Here's another crappy theory in basic Christian beliefs. I believe that this (fill in the blanks) is true, because the Bible says so. You believe everything that you read, because it comes from a book that you were brainwashed to believe, was the written word of God.

If you still believe in the Old Testament, you're going to have problems with your local government, family members and at work. Here's a couple of Old Testament beliefs that could break some United States laws.

These Bible verses are from the New International Version Bible and the American Standard.

1. Numbers 35:16 " 'If a man strikes someone with an iron object so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall be put to death.

Who's going to put this person to death? It would be against the law in the United States or anyone to perform this task, without the approval of gods chosen government.

2. Leviticus 20:9 For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall surely be put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.

How many children have cursed their parents? This isn't looking good for most of the people that I know.
3. Leviticus 20:27 A man also or a woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones; their blood shall be upon them.

I don't even want to get into this one, because just a few Bible verses before these, you weren't allowed to stone anyone or you yourself would be a murderer. If you're not confused yet, re read the article.

And here's one that's just corny, but has been disproved over time. There have been plenty of men who have had children with their brother’s wives throughout history. I don't get it. Their children have even had children, can you explain this one.

Leviticus 20:21 And if a man shall take his brother's wife, it is impurity: he hath uncovered his brother's nakedness; they shall be childless.

I'm not going to get into the New Testament, but there are plenty of crappy Bible verses in the Holy Bible. Whether you view them as contradictions or simple biblical errors, they are in the Bible. You can choose to ignore them, pretend like they mean something else, twist their original meaning completely around or you can accept the fact that there are problems with the Bible and Bible verses like the ones listed above, are definitely on the list.
