| Are There Any Sins That Are Unforgivable? - Christianity | ||||

By Greg Vanden Berge Articles For Christians God Said What Videos A lot of religious followers get confused when they read something like the 10 Commandments and assume that these laws or rules can lead to eternal punishment. Some of the rules in the book of Leviticus are actually penalized by death, but the New Testament changes a few of these rules. I know a lot of Christians who don't know anything about the Old Testament, New Testament, The Holy Bible or even their own religion. How would they even know, Jesus got rid of the old law when he died at Calvary? There is one sin that is unforgivable, according to the New Testament. Matthew 12:31 (ASB) Therefore I say unto you, Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but the blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. If I'm reading this correctly, man can be disrespectful towards other man, but can't be disrespectful to the spirit at all. If this Bible verse is referring to the Spirit as God or Jesus, we will have to throw them in to the arena also. This is where most people have problems interpreting the true meaning of particular Bible verses like these. Wouldn't it have been easier to replace the word spirit with God? So if you really want to know, are there any sins that are unforgivable and you believe that the Bible is really the written word of God and God is actually the creator of everything. You should not be disrespectful to the spirit. You're going to need to find out for yourself, if God or Jesus qualifies as the spirit that Matthew is referring to in this particular Bible verse. Don't make any assumptions and assume that Matthew is talking about God or Jesus, because this could get you into a lot of trouble in the future. You could always play it safe and do what most Christians do. Don't be disrespectful to the spirit, God or Jesus, to cover all your bases. Here's a little help for those who aren't interested in reading the Bible. Matthew 12:32 (ASB) And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in that which is to come. A little bit of advice for those of you who have been disrespectful to the spirit already, stay away from the light. |
