Are you an alcoholic, maybe a drug abuser, do you lie, steal and cheat? Are you unfaithful to your spouse and worship false idols? You could be an evil sinner and be strongly influenced by the devil. Before I get too carried away here, you have to believe in the devil before you can believe that he is influencing your life. If you do, honestly believe that there is an evil force out there, there's a good chance that you will notice evil things happening around you. People abuse substances often blame substance abuse like alcohol and drugs on something else, and sometimes other people. Most Christians would view this as a form of evil and would require God's help, through prayer and religious study to remove the evil from their life. Through advanced studies in psychology, they have attributed most cases of substance abuse to certain behaviors. Scientifically there is satisfactory evidence to back up these claims. It's not viewed as evil or some sort of demonic force that is controlling these people. I don't want to focus on substance abuse, people that lie, cheat and steal are often referred to as evil people. Some of them are abusive, greedy, controlling and self-centered. To maintain this lifestyle, sometimes it requires them to lie, cheat or steal. Often being viewed as heavily influenced by the devil. I can't deny the devil's existence, I cannot prove it either. However, if you're really interested in kicking the devil out of your life, you should spend some time evaluating your own problems, first. If you're suffering from something that you believe, to have been caused by an evil or demonic influence, start educating yourself about your problems. You could easily find some relief through education that might not be possible through Christianity. Education can free you from the chains that keep you in bondage. There are psychological problems that religion has a difficult time working with, however there are some psychological and medical treatments available to those who choose to give it a shot. You can look back at the history of witches and epilepsy to get a better understanding of what Christianity once viewed as evil. |
