By Greg Vanden Berge Articles For Christians God Said What Videos If anyone out there who isn't familiar with the Bible verse in the New Testament, “Ask and it shall be given to you”, and you consider yourself a Christian, I suggest that you start reading the book of Matthew to find your first clue. I was reading something just a moment ago, when I became confused at the authors statement. The author stated that you shall only receive things that will do good for God. The particular Bible verse that I'm talking about makes no reference to any conditions at all, about what you can ask for or even what you're going to do with your gift, once you receive it. These are the kind of things that create problems in Christianity. These are even things that create problems outside of Christianity. Someone reads a Bible verse and starts attaching conditions to it. They use their judgment, education and system of beliefs to add complicated confusion to simple and easy to understand Bible verses. Ask and it shall be given to you is pretty simple and easy to understand and doesn't imply that there are specific conditions or only under certain circumstances will you receive what you're asking for. Again, try not to listen to the church leaders or want to be church leaders who are planning on twisting Bible scripture around to fit their needs. If you're a Christian and you know how to read, you should easily be able to read the book of Matthew and find this wonderful Bible verse that suggests you can ask for anything and it will be given to you. You can be the judge of this as a Christian or believer in Jesus, whether it works or doesn't. There is no need to add additional conditions on to such a simple and wonderful Bible verse. Now why don't you stop reading this article and start asking God for the good stuff. |
