We've got to put an end to religious leaders that are only in it for the money. A close friend of mine once told me something that I will never forget. I was talking to him one day about my children and some of the problems that I was having with them, when he said something to me that made a lot of sense and I believe that most religious leaders can benefit from his advice. He told me that I need it to be a good example to my children. If I didn't want them to drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, use foul language or lie, I needed to be an honest person who didn't drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes or use foul language. His mother gave him this advice and I'm sharing it with you, because it works. If you're truly interested in becoming a trusted religious leader, you're going to have to become the example that others can follow. If you're going to spend most of your time asking for money, to support your personal church projects, maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea, for you to throw a couple of dollars into the pot. If you want others to quit sinning, maybe you should stop sinning yourself. I could go on and on with a list of good examples and bad examples, but I think you understand what I'm talking about. I made a conscious choice to become a good example for my children and others, a longtime ago. I might not be the best person or even the best father, but I'm doing the best that I can and that's what's important. I can only hope that these choices that I have made to become the best example that I can be, will benefit others in the future.
