What If the Bible Isn't the Written Word of God?

This question is going to be a lot easier for Muslims, Buddhists and Hindus to accept than for Christians and followers of Judaism. Even though some Muslims believe in the Old Testament, the New Testament isn't something that they entirely support.

Whenever I write a book or write an article, I can easily provide proof that I was the author. This doesn't mean that I can convince everyone that I was the author, because there's quite a few people out there that would actually need to physically watch me write the article, before they could accept it as a fact.

Now if I was writing a book with specific instructions to my followers about the creation of the universe, historical events and the promise of going to heaven, this might require a little more research before most educated individuals could support the claims within it. If I had a rule in my book of life that stated,” Thou shall not murder,” should I create additional problems for my book, by throwing in some more information about killing people in God's name?

Why would I deliberately tried to make this particular book more confrontational or contradicting? Think about this for a moment, the God of the Old Testament writes something down, only to be rewritten in the New Testament by the next God. Wait a minute though, both of these gods are the same people, yet they share different opinions.

If the Bible truly is the written word of God, shouldn't something like this be easy to prove? There are plenty of claims written down in the Holy Bible that can't be proven or disproven, yet millions of Christians assume that these claims are the truth, without any evidence to support them.

If I was a Christian and I was looking for the right thing to do or say, it would start with the truth. I would never say that God created the earth, with out enough information to support these claims or debate this topic without any evidence

It would be much better, to say that the Holy Bible says that God created the earth, but I really don't know for a fact, nor do I have any satisfactory scientific evidence to support the claims made within the Bible. But that's not really what Christians do or say, is it.
