Christian Woman Seeks Divorce

I never really wanted to tell this story, but it doesn't make much sense not to. It's about a woman named Kathy who was having problems with her husband and didn't know what else to do.

Kathy was a Catholic and went to her priest for advice. The priest advised her to stay in the relationship and that suffering was part of life. He suggested that she worked her way through this abusive relationship, because God wanted her to.

Kathy was an intelligent woman who had a career in a multinational corporation with a six-figure income. She couldn't take it anymore and finally one day she snapped and told her husband that it was over and she was leaving.

Kathy filed for divorce and never looked back. She remains a Christian woman, but treads lightly in the world of religious. She suffered years of guilt, until she read one of my articles religions that create guilt.

I wouldn't have wrote this article, but there's a message in it for every woman or man who believes that God doesn't want them to get divorced. There is a better life out there, for most people who seek it diligently.

There is no need to suffer within your religious beliefs or feel guilty because God or a representative of his religion tells you something different. If the Christian God is truly the creator of everything and knows everything that's going to happen to everyone, why should you be any different.

God knows what's going on and knows what's going to happen, yet chooses to make everyone feel guilty about their choices, including divorce. That doesn't make much sense, does it?

Kathy has since found a loving, caring and extremely compassionate man that she plans on spending the rest of her life with. If you're having problems with your spouse, I'm not going to advise you on this issue, but I am going to tell you something and I would like you to give it a lot of thought.

Don't live in misery and for God's sake, don't ask your religious leaders for marital advice. Find a professional counselor who understands marital issues.
