Could a Religious Belief Become a Fact?

With enough evidence, any religious beliefs can easily become a fact. The only problem is, most religions spread their beliefs all over the world, like they are facts. This problem is growing with the population and seems to be getting worse, instead of better.

Think about this for a moment, your parents tell you that Santa Claus is a real person and brings gifts to everyone who is good, one day each year. You soon find yourself believing in Santa Claus, because everything that your parents are telling you, are supported by some pretty dog gone good evidence.

The evidence to support this belief are the presents that you receive as a young child, on Christmas day. Why wouldn't you believe in Santa Claus? As long as you receive these gifts, every year, there's a good chance that you will continue to believe in Santa Claus.

Now for the bad news, the minute that your parents tell you that there isn't a Santa Claus, you are extremely confused, because you've got the proof, you got the evidence and now they're trying to convince you, that Santa Claus was a fake. Where did the gifts come from? I sat on Santa Clause's lap at the mall, it doesn't make any sense what's going on mom and dad.

Obviously we sort through the confusion and find out that Santa Claus wasn't really the person bringing us the gifts. I hope no one reading this article still believes in Santa Claus, but if you do, contact your parents immediately.

I didn't want to get into a long story, but the same thing happens in religions all over the world. Someone makes up a story, convinces other people to believe it and within a short period of time, we have created a powerful belief.

It's easy to believe a belief, but it's a little more difficult to change a belief into a fact. The story of Santa Claus was obviously disproved and your belief became a reality, the moment that you found out that Santa Claus wasn't real.

Think about applying the same beliefs to your religion. Is your god, really God or is somebody else's god the real thing? Are there any beliefs that you believe to be true, even though there isn't any satisfactory evidence to support their claims.

Try to give this some serious thought and see what you come up with. Think about all the things that you have believed in the past, that are no longer relevant or true.
