Did God Really Do That? The Power of Prayer

Have you ever been in a situation where you needed to ask for God's help and you don't know if he really gave it to you? How do you really know, 100% for sure that God actually answers your prayers? I would like you to read this article with an open mind.

Let me give you an example: You get in your car and it won't start. It started yesterday, why wouldn't it start today? You remember something bad that happened to you yesterday and think that now would be a good time for a small prayer. Maybe there's an evil influence that's not letting your car start.

This might sound odd but some people actually believe this.

You say a quick prayer and ask God to help your car start. You go to start the car and it still doesn't start. You're getting irritated but you remember last week's sermon, about patience. You calm down, say another prayer, and yet the car still isn't starting. You've got to get to work and this is starting to become a bigger problem as more time goes by.

You remember something that you're brother showed you, if your car doesn't start hold the gas pedal down while turning the starter and all of a sudden your car starts.

You automatically give God the credit and thank him. It's worked again and now you can safely go on your way to work. You might even have a religious symbol in your car, like a necklace hanging from your mirror with a picture of a saint or a cross hanging from it, bringing you additional support from heaven.

How many people have credited God for a mechanical miracle like this? When God doesn't answer our prayers and our car doesn't start, how many people blame him for not answering their requests? Something to think about.

Here's the point I would like to make that most people overlook. Did God actually help you start your car? Would your car have started anyway if you didn't pray and will the power of prayer continue to start your car in the future?

Whatever you really believe in will become your reality. As you continue to reinforce your beliefs with daily events, your beliefs can become a reality. You can give God credit for everything that happens and this will reinforce your beliefs that God is playing a bigger part in your life than you can imagine.

Did God really start your car?
