Did Jesus Really Pay for Our Sins When He Died at Calvary?

By Gregory B  Articles For Christians

What does it really mean, when we say that Jesus died for our sins? Is everyone who is alive today, forgiven for their sins? Do you have to actually believe that Jesus was God or does this only apply to those who believe in him? Let's get down to the bottom of this.

I realize that some churches, have you ask for forgiveness and even have confession booths that one of their religious leaders and the sinner can enter into and hopefully by that time that their religious leader is done, the sinner will be forgiven for everything that they admitted to. But why is the sinner going into a booth and asking for forgiveness?

Here's the problem I have with asking for forgiveness, especially with religions who require you to ask for forgiveness. If Jesus died for our sins, did he only die for those who had lived before him or was he actually dying, to save every one who hadn't even been born yet.

Does another man, or a religious leader, actually have the ability to forgive someone else for their sins? Has anyone ever ask that question?

It's not only about asking for forgiveness, if we are born sinners, why should we need to ask for forgiveness. God created us in his image, is God actually a sinner or did he only create part of us in his image. I'm not completely confused yet, but by the time I finish this article, we are both going to be looking for answers and the biggest problem will be, finding someone who can actually give us an honest answer that makes sense to us and everyone else.

It doesn't make any sense, if Jesus died for our sins, we shouldn't need to ask for forgiveness anymore. If God knows that we are going to sin, shouldn't he just expect the worst from every one and be glad, when they do something good. Just another confused and gatherer of information, trying to find the truth.
