| The Four Gospels Create More Research Problems | ||||

By Greg Vanden Berge Articles For Christians God Said What Videos It never really made much sense to me, to think that we needed four stories about how Jesus was born and what he did during his life. Do you realize that each one of the four Gospels has four different versions of how Jesus died? If I was to ask a Christian leader about the death of Jesus, they could only speculate or make a choice, which one they should believe in. This is where the problem starts, once a church leaders starts to share his beliefs with others, it won't take very long, before his beliefs become other people's truths. Let me give you an example of what I'm talking about, this church leader is an elderly man in his 70s and almost everyone in the church views him as one of the most biblically literate people they have ever met. This man continues to explain that Jesus died on the cross, then Mary Magdalene and Mary went to the tomb, only to find out that it was empty. This would be fine, if this was the only version in all four Gospels, but it isn't. The more research that you do about the four Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, I can guarantee one thing, you will find contradictions between the four of them. Could you imagine, this particular church leader convincing millions of people that only one version about Jesus’ death and resurrection was the truth? How much damage is actually done each year, by church leaders who do things like this, without telling their followers that there are three other versions? The biggest research problem that the four Gospels create are the different versions of Jesus’ life. It's hard to imagine God writing four individual Gospels about the life of Jesus and deliberately changing them, to confuse those who are seriously interested in studying the written word of their creator. |
