Taking the Guilt Out Of Christianity - One Step at a Time

I was thinking the other day about the amount of guilt that lies within Christianity. If you stop and think about it, most people are motivated by fear more than by love. I would imagine, that if you took the guilt out of Christianity, it wouldn't be long, before you had problems with this religion.

Think about this for a moment. We are all born sinners, we can only go to heaven if we're good, thou shall not do all sorts of things or you shall be punished and last but not least, fear God.

Ask yourself a serious question,” Do you go to church on a regular basis, for guilt-based reasons?” For example: God knows what I'm doing, if I don't go to church, I won't be viewed as a good person, it's the only way to heaven, someone takes offense if you miss one day or any other reason that would support fear instead of love.

Think about all of the reasons why you do something, for example: go to work, sleep, eat or avoid eating, educate yourself or remain uneducated, maintain your home or vehicles, pay your taxes or live a moral life. There are so many things that we do on a daily basis because were afraid for some reason.

The God of the Old Testament mentions fear and destruction, while the God of the New Testament offers hope and love. It gets a little confusing sometimes, especially when you're reading the Bible or listening to a fear-based sermon.

If you're living your life in Christianity from fear, you should start taking steps towards living a life of love. Jesus seemed to send a message of love, I really don't know why the early church leaders created a fear-based religion, when Jesus taught his followers to love.

If you belong to a religious organization that is constantly preaching fear or the end of times, I would suggest that you find another place to worship.
