Oprah Winfrey and Christianity

I just got through watching a video on Oprah and Christianity. I thought that she made herself perfectly clear to her audience and to the people who were interviewing her. The only problem is, that there are thousands of Christians, especially Christian women who look up to this woman and they often put her up on a untouchable pedestal.

We need to keep something in mind here, Oprah Winfrey is just a person like us, she overcame tougher obstacles than most in her life and became a multi-billionaire. This could have happened to anyone, but it happened to her and she probably deserves every thing that she has been given by her creator.

The only question I have, is why do others have to cut her down? Why do some Christian leaders, need to condemn her? Don't they think that she has feelings to? I've always been amazed at how someone like her can become such an easy target for such a group of people, who often deny the truth about their own religion.

Let me give you an example of what I'm talking about. I've said more stuff on my videos and in my articles about Christianity, than she has ever said on her television program. I have made videos, that strongly voice my opinions about religion and Christianity, yet no one has persecuted me or put me in the political spotlight.

There is obviously a big difference between myself and Oprah Winfrey. She has financial advantages and obligations that I can't even imagine. She has probably spent more time, helping others, and I could have ever imagined also. Yet she's a target and I'm not.

I have a suggestion for anyone who wants to persecute her and tell her that she's wrong about her Christian beliefs. Stand back, and take a few moments to look at all of the good that this woman has brought into the lives of so many people.

Jesus lived a long time ago and impacted billions of lives. Most of the people who choose to condemn Oprah Winfrey, haven't even begun to change or affect as many lives as she has. Is this a person who is truly inspired by someone like Jesus?

I think I understand where she's coming from. I don't believe that Jesus was a god, I believe that he is a symbol of what we can achieve. I'm not going to put Oprah Winfrey in the same boat as Jesus, because I would get crucified, I simply making a statement. However, she sure seems to be a great example, for other people to follow, like another great historical figure from our past.
