Pastors Seriously Need to Quit Asking for Money and Promising Eternal Life

I don't know how many times it says that you should give a certain amount of money in the Bible or how many times it has been twisted around to make people feel guilty enough to give to their church. If this is what religion is all about, stay at it and keep doing it, but if it's not let's start focusing on something else.

I rarely get to interact with Christians, since I'm not one of them, but for some of the ones that I do know, they seem to give for the sole purpose of receiving their eternal rewards in heaven. How would you like to spend most of your life giving to a Christian organization, only to find out that you weren't going to heaven?

Could you imagine living your whole life believing in something that was a lie and there's nothing at the end of your life. After people are dead, rarely do they come back and report what the afterlife is actually like and this leaves it wide open for Christian leaders to exploit every issue that they possibly can.

I'm going to share one word with you, and it's a word that plenty of church leaders use today, it's called fear and if you want another one, how about guilt. Fear is one thing, but guilt can make people do funny things. It's hard to imagine, how many people all over the world give everything that they own to a Christian minister and his organization, just because they promised them bountiful rewards in the afterlife.

I believe that one of the most famous Christian leaders said something like this, “Give away all that you own so that you can build your treasures up in heaven.” That can provide any unscrupulous Christian leader with the perfect Bible verse to make anyone feel guilty enough to turn over all of their earthly possessions to an organization that can't even provide us with the answers and proof that there actually is an eternal afterlife.
