Problems with the Bible and Scribes

There are plenty of practicing Christians that don't want to admit that the Bible has any problems in it at all, but I'm here to tell you something a little bit different. Some of the written words in the Bible today are no more than hearsay from our past.

I was listening to an audio book called, Misquoting Jesus and it said,” That most of the biblical text that we have today are copies from other copies and we don't have any of the original documents.”

What does this actually mean to someone who's searching for the truth about Christianity and the Holy Bible? Big problems and it doesn't get any simpler than that. We're talking about biblical text that could have easily been manipulated by scribes.

These scribes could have changed the religious text that you're reading today in error or on purpose. Even the best of the best, make mistakes every once in awhile and if these mistakes were compounded over centuries, who would actually know what the original authors true message actually was.

Those scribes who change the religious text on purpose is a completely different matter altogether. These were people who had a specific agenda and could only accomplish that, by modifying the religious text. You really don't even know if the information you're reading in the truth, yet most Christians believe that it is.

If you're seriously thinking about learning more about scribes who copied religious text, I would recommend reading the book,” Misquoting Jesus,” it goes into detail about some of the problems that early Christianity faced and how they dealt with them.

You can't assume anything, but finding the truth or even attempting to take educated guesses is a lot different than simply believing in something, just because your ancestors and parents convinced you that the Bible is truly the written word of our Creator, doesn't mean that it's true.
