| Reading a Confusing Translation-Understanding the Bible | ||||

By Gregory Berge Articles For Christians For years now, we've heard stories about secret codes inside the Bible. Religious scholars have been searching for secret messages and special verses for quite some time now. What I'm about to tell you, could shock you and your Christian friends and I only recommend reading this article if you're interested in knowing the truth.If you're looking for interesting Bible secrets, they can be found simply by reading the Bible. If the Bible was written to confuse and irritate followers, it does a pretty good job. The Bible is confusing, because the people spoke a little different to thousand years ago and it was written in three different languages. Simply translating from Spanish to English can become difficult, could you imagine translating ancient Hebrew or Greek into a language that Cambodian Christians can interpret with little effort. The interpretation is the key to understanding the Bible, if it is misinterpreted it can not only send you the wrong message, it can actually damage Christianity. For example: The Book of Revelations in the New Testament states that only 144,000 people will enter into the kingdom of God or heaven. How could you interpret this to mean anything different? You can read the book of Revelation with an open mind and come to the same conclusion as I did. You can also read different Bible translations and arrive at a similar conclusion. It states it clearly but is misinterpreted often. The people who misinterpret the Bible create problems for Christians, especially new followers or people that are searching for answers. The Bible states something clearly, it gets twisted around to benefit the church, yet, no matter how you read it, it comes out the same. There are plenty of Bible verses that don't make sense and are hard to understand, however, if you can read the Bible word for word, you will be able to understand most of the Bible. I would recommend studying out of a few different Bibles. This will allow you to get a couple of different perspectives. With these different perspectives, the Bible will be easier to understand. If the Bible still doesn't make any sense, I recommend purchasing other books on Bible study. Gather as much information, inside and outside of your religion as possible. |
