How Much Has Religion Influenced Your Life?

It's not hard to imagine that most of us from our early childhoods seem to develop our basic beliefs about religion, without even understanding who created these beliefs. Usually our parents have learned from their parents and their parents from their parents and so on up the family tree.

For generations, your descendents have gathered their religious beliefs from their descendents and it seems to provide us with similar religious beliefs. In other words, your religious beliefs were instilled upon you, willingly or unwillingly by your parents.

Your early childhood, and early adulthood religious beliefs could have easily been influenced by your community. I would imagine that some of you reading this article, went to a school that was sponsored by your religion. There are plenty of Christian schools in the United States that provide families with a religious-based education.

I would like to ask the reader a question. How do you feel about women's rights, should women stay home and raise the children? How do you feel about alternative lifestyles like homosexuality? Now this one, I would like you to give some serious thought to, how do you feel about other religions?

If you were raised a Muslim, there's a good chance that you might not like Jews or Christians. Your religious influence by your community and your parents, has placed a dominant thought in your mind that these people are bad and sometimes, even the thought that their religion is wrong.

The next time that you view someone who believes in another religion as wrong, I would like you to think about this article and other things that you might also think are wrong, but haven't really taken the time to investigate the beliefs of these other religions.

Education will usually free the mind up and strip away the fog from your early childhood.
