Don't Waste Your Time with Nonbelievers

Whoever said this probably needs to have their head examined. People outside of your religion, can often become your best teachers. I'd like to give you an example of what I'm talking about.

Let's say that you're a Muslim, and you were taught by your community, to stay away from anyone who was a nonbeliever or didn't share the same religious views as you do. Could this affect you in a negative way?

You need to be your own judge and start observing people within your religious community, especially those who choose to shelter themselves from outside opinions. Usually you don't need to look far, especially if you worship regularly at a local temple, synagogue, mosque or church. These people will usually be older and aren't looking for any change, especially with their religious beliefs.

If this is the lifestyle, that suits you, and you're not interested in learning anything outside of your religion, there's a good chance that you won't be able to understand anyone who belongs to another religion or shares different religious beliefs.

If you truly desire to learn more about your religion, you should start learning about other religions. You should try to focus on the similarities and differences, between your religious views and outside religious views. This has been one of my greatest teachers and I would imagine that once you start to look outside of your religion for answers, you're probably going to get one of the best educations of your entire life.

If you're a Christian, do you realize that the religious faiths of Islam and Judaism, share the same God as you do. You might not ever learn things like this, if you don't take it upon yourself to educate yourself, about other religions.
